Frank Lafferty
Jr Vice Commander -

Frank served three years of active duty with B/229 Aviation Battalion 1st Cavalry Division as a Huey helicopter crew chief/door gunner from 1963 through 1966.   The main combat areas were Central Highlands and Ia Drang Valley.  Awards include two Bronze Stars (one with Combat V) and 12 Air Medals.

He joined the Rhode Island Army National Guard Troop D Aviation Unit in 1976 and spent 12 years serving as Crewing Gun Ships and OU-6 Scout aircraft.   Finishing up at the Rhode Island Military Academy (Now the 243 RTI) as the 1Sgt (E8).   Frank graduated from the Sergeants Major Academy on June 21, 1996 

Frank received a BS from Roger Williams University (1974) and an MBA from Providence College (1991).  

He has over 20 years of serving the VFW as Junior Vice Commander in Florida and continues as Jr. Vice Commander of VFW Post 152.  Frank also has served as State Inspector since July 2022.
