We are hosting Wickford's first fall festival and calling it OktoberVets! This will be a family, fun community event that will bring together people of our community and veterans who have served our nation. It is two great events wrapped up into one great day with fun for the whole family. The day begins with a 5K fun run through Wickford Village and finishes off with a festival with live music, a beer garden, assorted food items, vendors, and activities for family members. You can do both events or just one, either way, it is a fun-filled way to support our nation's Veterans and local businesses. Local businesses are welcomed and encouraged to set up booths to promote their business and to sell things.

 

100% of our proceeds will help fund veteran service programs and local community charities. 

 

Enjoy a 5k and a .152k fun run through historic Wickford Village, named 2022 Best Historic Small Town in America by USA Today. Established in 1709, Wickford Village provides picturesque waterfront streets with one-of-a-kind shops featuring jewelry, housewares, clothing, and more. Your run will take you past galleries, antique shops, cafes, restaurants, beautifully maintained churches, colonial homes, and gardens. All race participants will be given a T-shirt with a unique, specially designed race logo, a race medal, and a 'goodie' bag with assorted swag.

 

 

 

 

 

 The Festival is free and open to the public. We welcome all to raise a stein and prost to Gemütlichkeit and cheer at our waterside Beer Garden as you take in all that Wickford Village offers. 

The Vagabonds will provide entertainment. They specialize in German Music, From the old-time Favorites to the new. Their repertoire includes songs from around the world, including Irish, Italian, and Latin-American music. Of course, they also deliver plenty of American tunes from the past 50 years. Their specialty is entertaining the crowd with sing-alongs, dancing, and audience participation. They don't just play music; They live it.

OktoberVets is not complete without good old-fashioned German Pretzels, some Bratwurst, and some tasty beer! South County BBQ will provide mouthwatering German-inspired BBQ. Below are some of the wonderful RI craft breweries you can enjoy.
