Mike Carter
Quartermaster - Army

Mr. Michael Carter is a graduate of Providence College. After completing the school’s R.O.T.C. training program, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Army.

Mike served in the Army from 1969 to 1971. After an initial assignment with the 82nd Airborne Division, he was assigned to the 109th Air Delivery Company in Vietnam. During 1970 invasion of Cambodia, he was attached to the 1st Cavalry Division.

His decorations include the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Parachutist Badge, and Army Parachute Rigger Wings.

After his Army service, he had a long career in consumer products sales and marketing. 

Mike is a Life Member of both North Kingstown Memorial Post 152 and the VFW National Home for Children. He was also elected to State Commander of the VFW Department of Rhode Island in 2019.

He and his wife Arlene make their home in North Kingstown. They have two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael J. and MaryAnne & Christopher and Sarah, as well as three grandchildren, Brady,
Lauren, and Tyler.
